Oh dear...
The oven wasn't set high enough...I don't know if I looked at the fan temperature but didn't set the oven to fan...or just didn't set it high enough...or what. Needless to say...these gorgeous Blueberry Cornmeal muffins didn't rise...they spread...and they spread faaaaaar. What a disaster!
At least they still taste good...sigh.
A good tasting muffin is never a failure! I think these look delicious---the cornmeal sounds like an interesting idea. I much prefer a homemade 'failure' to the huge commercial muffins I see in most bakery cases.
ReplyDeleteSue...I agree...and will be making them again...but with closer attention to the oven setting!! :)
ReplyDeleteare you using silicone muffin cases???? how do you find them for baking???

Mummi-ji...I only use them for muffins, and I like them...the muffins just slide right out!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sue, and I think they look lovely. It's taste that matters!
ReplyDeleteThey look delicious, and I bet if you grill them they'll be even yummier!
ReplyDeleteThey may not look utterly perfect to you, but if they tasted great - that's all that matters. Nothing worse than a fabulous looking cake that fails the taste test!
ReplyDeleteWhy do i always look at your blog when i am hungry. You cakes are making my mouth water......xx
